FAQ

How do I book a motorhome rental?

You can register your interest online and we will contact you to confirm the booking or you can phone our office for further information and to check the availability.

Can you pick us up from Malton station?

Yes. Malton station is only 10 minutes from Deerholme Farm and we would be more than happy to do pick ups/drop offs.

When and where can I collect the motorhome?

The motorhomes are available for collection  from Deerholme Farm, High Marishes, YO17 6UQ  at the time agreed.

We generally rent our vehicles from Saturday to Saturday. However, weekend breaks and alternate pick up/drop off dates may be available. Please contact us and we will see if we can accommodate you.

It must be returned between 08.00 and 10.30am at the end of the hire period. This ensures the motorhome is available for the next hire.

Failing to return the motorhome will incur a charge as stated in our terms and conditions.

Can I bring my pet?

It should be possible to bring a well behaved pet! Please mention at the time of booking.

How much time should I allow for collection or drop off?

If it’s your first time with a Motorhome, we would like to spend at least an hour with you running through the workings, so that you feel comfortable with everything. If you feel you need longer that won’t be a problem.

We will check your documentation and show you round the Motorhome to familiarise you with the vehicle. We will agree any damage already present and also the inventory of equipment supplied.

Drop off can also take up to an hour to allow time to check over the van and reimburse deposits etc.

Can I leave a car when I pick up my motorhome?

Yes, we have room to leave one car when picking up the van (additional space may be available upon request).

Is there a limit to the number of miles during my hire?

Yes, North Yorkshire Motorhomes vehicles have a limit of 1200 miles. Additional mileage is charged at 25p per mile.

How does the insurance work?

Our motorhomes carry comprehensive motor insurance for the UK mainland which can be extended to Western Europe. This is to cover damage to the vehicle or to third parties. If there is damage to the motorhome and the accident was your fault, your liability is the first £1,000. In the case of damage caused due to the third party we will retain the excess until it is agreed that it is the other party’s fault. Damage caused to tyres/wheels, wing mirrors, glass, underside of the vehicle or overhead damage (defined as over 6 feet/1.85 metres) or the filling up with the wrong type of fuel will be the hirer’s responsibility and is not covered by our insurance.
In the case of damage due to negligence or in the case of damage to the interior, the full cost of rectification will be charged. Insurance excess may vary according to your driving history. We will confirm at the time of booking.

Why do I have to pay a £500 security deposit?

A £500 CASH security deposit is required on the day of hire. This is returnable subject to inspection of the motorhome on its return, although the hirer is responsible for the first £1000 for any damaged caused.
